Vision Therapy
Anderson Family Vision Care is proud to announce that we now include Neuro-Developmental Vision Assessments and Therapy Programs. Our clinic is fully equipped to treat patients using the most up-to-date methods and our vision therapist, Dawn Grandmont, has worked in the field of Vision Therapy for over 6 years bringing a wealth of experience to our clinic. She is a member of the College of Optmetrists in Vision Development and was the second therapist in Canada to have received her certification
Neuro-Developmental Vision Therapy is a treatment program for both children and adults who struggle with specific vision problems that conventional optometry does not typically address or opts to treat using conventional methods. Vision problems can be very disturbing and are known to negatively impact the ability to learn; therefore, we are committed to assisting those individuals for whom conventional optometry does not offer the best possible result. Rather than taking a “compensatory” approach to finding a solution, vision therapy offers an opportunity to “remediate” the problem.
Unfortunately, many people do not recognize that they have a vision problem. Most certainly, children rarely report they are having visual difficulties. There are physical clues that point to possible vision problems, but surprisingly, many of the symptoms that would indicate a person were having vision problems seem entirely unrelated to vision. Yet, these symptoms are manifesting as a direct result of a vision problem.
